Just a reminder to PLEASE lock your doors and secure your vehicles left outside. Thieves struck in Forsyth County a couple of weeks ago and were able to steal three vehicles because the owners left them unlocked with the key fobs inside. Guns and expensive electronics are also a favorite of these thieves, so PLEASE remember to bring in your valuables.

This is also the time of year when the scammers are hard at work. They are using the Holidays to pull at your heartstrings and separate you from your cash. PLEASE remember…if someone is calling and wants you to pay a debt with gift cards, it is a scam. If someone calls you and tells you that there is a warrant for your arrest, but you can clear it up by buying gift cards or (this is a new one) go put money into the machine in the lobby of the jail. That machine is there to put money on the account of an incarcerated person, NOT to pay off a warrant.

If something sounds fishy, or too good to be true, trust your instincts and don’t fall for it.
